The Americans and Chiefs will meet tonight for their annual New Year's Eve game at the Toyota Center. It is Tri-City's 32nd annual New Year's Eve game at the Toyota Center.
A Tri-Cities tradition: Americans to host 32nd annual New Year's Eve bash
It is their fifth meeting in their 12-game season series. The series is currently tied with the Ams and Chiefs each winning twice. Ethan Ernst leads head-to-head scoring with four goals and two assists against the Chiefs. For Spokane, Chase Bertholet has five points (three goals, two assists) against Tri-City this season. The Americans will look to get back into the win column tonight after losing the last two on the road (0-1-1-0).
Tri-City most recently played last night as they fell 2-1 in Spokane. After two scoreless periods, Elouann Lemonnier opened scoring for the Americans with his third goal of the season. Lukas Dragicevic and Alex Serraglio assisted the goal. Dragicevic's historic point streak is now at 27 games with 7 goals and 29 assists over that period. The Chiefs followed with two goals to steal the victory. Nick Avakyan played in net, turning aside 21 of 23 shots faced. Tri-City led shots 33-23. The Ams have struggled on the road - now losing their last eight road games (0-6-1-1), but excelled at home - winning their last seven at the Toyota Center.
