Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

Cincinnati, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, preparing for their 13th consecutive season of professional hockey in Cincinnati, announced today the team's schedule for the 2002-03 East Coast Hockey League regular season.

The club's home-opening game is scheduled for Saturday, October 12 at USBank Arena against the Peoria Rivermen. Other notable games include the Tuesday, December 31 game versus Toledo, and Friday, November 8 as newly formed rival Lexington makes its first appearance in the Queen City.

In all the Cyclones will have 36 home games at USBank Arena, ranging from October through March. There will be 13 Saturday games and 8 Friday games to give Cincinnati a heavy influence of weekend dates. The Cyclones will face 18 different opponents this season out of the league's 26 other entries. Division rivals Dayton, Lexington, and Toledo are the most common foes. Cincinnati faces Dayton 11 times (6 home, 5 away) while meeting Toledo 10 times (5 home, 5 away) and Lexington 9 times (5 home, 4 away).

Teams making their first visit to USBank Arena this season include the Arkansas Riverblades, who are coached by former Cyclone Chris Cichocki, the Augusta (Ga.) Lynx, the Baton Rouge (La.) Kingfish, the Louisiana IceGators, and Lexington.

All Cyclones home games will start at 7:05 p.m. Eastern time this season, with the exception of December 31, which will begin at 5:05 p.m.

"Our research shows that an earlier start allows more families the opportunity to come see our games," said Cyclones President/COO Pat Pylypuik. "The weeknight games will create more of an incentive for business-people to stay downtown, have dinner at a local restaurant, then come to our games."

Full-season tickets and partial ticket plans for the 2002-03 season are on sale through the Cyclones ticket office. For more information on pricing and ticket options, please call the Cyclones at (513) 421-7825 ext. 144.
