ECHL Grants New Orleans Voluntary Suspension Request

PRINCETON, N.J. ­ The East Coast Hockey League announced on Thursday that the Board of Governors has approved a request for voluntary suspension from the New Orleans Brass for the 2002-03 season.

Brass ownership and management will continue in their efforts to put a team on the ice for the 2002-03 season. In the event those efforts are successful, the Brass has indicated that it may request reinstatement by the ECHL Board of Governors.

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Player's Association, all New Orleans players become free agents, effective immediately.

Northeast Division
Atlantic City, Charlotte, Greensboro, Reading, Richmond, Roanoke and Trenton

Northwest Division
Cincinnati, Dayton, Johnstown, Lexington, Peoria, Toledo and Wheeling

Southeast Division
Augusta, Columbia, Columbus, Florida, Greenville, Pee Dee and South Carolina

Southwest Division
Arkansas, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Pensacola
