San Diego Inks Rookie Goaltender

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls have signed rookie goaltender Jan Munster, the West Coast Hockey League club announced today.
Munster, 22, comes to the WCHL after spending the last three seasons in Europe. Last season, he played for the Berlin Capitals of the German DEL league. In 54 games, Munster posted a 3.79 goals against average and .872 save percentage.
The 5-foot-8-inch, 162-pound native of Germany spent the previous two seasons with the Hannover Scorpions, also in the DEL.
"Jan is considered a rookie in the WCHL, but we feel his experience in Germany gives him a lot of potential," Gulls head coach and General Manager Steve Martinson said.
