October 23, 2025 - There was lots of anticipation and curiosity heading into the 2025-26 season for the Wheeling Nailers. With a pair of new coaches and only eight returning players, "change" was the most popular word utilized in the days leading up to the opening game. However, it was a familiar face who delivered the heroics, as Matthew Quercia, the longest active Nailer, snapped a 3-3 tie with 1:33 remaining. Electric Ending for Nailers on Opening Night

October 18, 2025 - CINCINNATI, OH - The Wheeling Nailers opened the 2025-26 season in thrilling fashion on Saturday night, as they faced the Cincinnati Cyclones at Heritage Bank Center. Matthew Quercia snapped a 3-3 deadlock with 1:33 remaining, and Brayden Edwards followed with his first career goal to deliver a 5-3 victory. Nailers Announce 2025-26 Season-Opening Roster

October 16, 2025 - WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are excited to announce their 2025-26 Season-Opening Roster, as the team prepares to open its 34th season on Saturday night with a road contest against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Head Coach Ryan Papaioannou begins his first season with the organization, following 16 spectacular seasons as the head coach of the Brooks Bandits. Nailers Acquire Connor Lockhart from Bloomington

October 14, 2025 - WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have made a trade, which takes effect immediately. Wheeling has received forward Connor Lockhart from the Bloomington Bison in exchange for the ECHL rights to defenseman Chris Ortiz. Lockhart, 22, is set to begin his second professional season, after playing his rookie campaign with Bloomington.
