March 7, 2026 - RAPID CITY, SD- The Wheeling Nailers had a perfect trip to South Dakota, as they earned all six points against the Rapid City Rush at The Monument. On Saturday night, Wheeling allowed a goal on the first Rush shot, but Mike Posma scored the tying and winning goals, then Tristan Thompson added insurance for the 3-1 road triumph. Maxim Pavlenko stopped the final 23 shots he saw to earn the win in goal, as the Nailers climbed to 19 games over .500 for the first time this season.

Wheeling won by the exact same 4-3 final score, but this tilt was decided in regulation. Logan Pietila's shorthanded goal at the 2:04 mark of the third period was the eventual game winner, while Matty De St. Phalle posted his second straight multi-point game with a goal and an assist. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier earned his 61st career win in a Wheeling Nailers uniform, making him the winningest netminder in Wheeling Hockey History. Gauthier's final save of the night secured the historic achievement, as he blocked a shootout attempt by Rapid City Rush leading scorer Ryan Wagner for the 4-3 triumph. March 4, 2026 - The march to the playoffs is officially underway, as 20 games remain in the 2025-26 regular season. The Wheeling Nailers begin this week tied with the Adirondack Thunder for first place in the North Division, as the two squads have identical 31-15-6 records, good for 68 points. After going 1-2-1 in four games last week, the Nailers will have three chances to add to their point total this week, as they make their first visit to Rapid City, South Dakota since December of 2019 for a three-game series against the Rush.
