Portland, Maine- Ohh Canada! The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (47-31), Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, celebrated Canada Day with a 6-2 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs (28-50), ending the 'Dogs three game winning streak. The win also snapped a four game slide for the first place Fisher Cats.

Eastern League All-Star Joel Carreno (7-5) continued his dominance over the Sea Dogs. Carreno pitched seven innings allowing just one earned run. The Dominican native held the Sea Dogs hitless through four innings until Reynaldo Rodriguez doubled to lead off the fifth. Rodriguez got thrown out trying to extend the play. Carreno has pitched 20 innings against Portland this season allowing just 10 hits and four earned runs while tallying 22 strikeouts and picking-up three wins. The right hander now has 111 punch-out's, ranking second in the Eastern League behind Harrisburg's Brad Peacock.

The Fisher Cats got on the board first in the fifth inning when third baseman Mark Sobolewski hit a two-run homer, his third of the season, off Huntzinger to break the tie. Huntzinger would fall victim of the long ball once again as Mike McDade hit his team leading 13th home run of the season to lead off the sixth inning. McDade paced the 'Cats attack going 2-4 with two runs and two RBI.

The Sea Dogs would get a run back during the bottom of the sixth when Jeremy Hazelbaker would score on a Chih-Hsien Chiang RBI groundout to second.

Huntzinger (4-7) went out for the seventh but was unable to keep the Fisher Cats off the board as the 'Cats scratched across two more runs. John Tolisano walked to lead off the inning and would latter score on Justin Jackson's first Double-A RBI removing Huntzinger from the game. Huntzinger allowed four runs in 6.2 innings recording seven strikeouts. Fernandes relieved Huntzinger and was greeted with a McDade RBI single to left. McDade completed the three run seventh by scoring on Hazelbaker's error.

The Dog's would get one final run in the 8th when Hazelbaker blasted his second home run of the season, into the U.S. Cellular Pavilion.

Prior to the game the Sea Dogs welcomed Belinda Morel of Greene, Maine, as the seven millionth fan in franchise history.
