
Derek Jeter to Rehab in Trenton

(Trenton, NJ)- The Thunder and New York Yankees announced today that SS Derek Jeter is scheduled to make a rehab appearance on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3, both at 7:05 PM at Waterfront Park as the Thunder face the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates).
Jeter, the Yankees' team captain since 2003, stands just six hits short of 3,000 for his Major Leauge career.
Jeter debuted in the Major Leagues in 1995 and has spent his entire career with the Yankees. He is the owner of five World Series championships, has been selected as an All-Star eleven times, won the Silver Slugger award four times, and he has won the Gold Glove award on five occasions.
In 2003, Jeter played a five game rehabiliation appearance in Trenton and batted .444 (8-for-18) with a double, a triple and five RBI. Three of the top five largest crowds in Waterfront Park history occurred while Jeter was in Trenton. May 10, 2003 drew 8,729 (#2), May 9, 2003 drew 8,461 (#4) and May 7, 2003 drew 8,380 (#5).
Jeter went on the NY Yankees disabled list after straining his calf on June 13.
EARLY GATES
The Thunder expect large crowds for these two games and encourage all fans to arrive at the ballpark as early as possible. Gates will open for all fans at 4:00 pm.
PARKING
The Thunder encourage fans to park in a FREE SHUTTLE PARKING LOT located at the corner of Cass Street and Rt. 129.
This is especially convienent for fans traveling from points north via Rt. 1. Simply exit at Rt. 129 and take a left at Cass Street. MAP
