Altoona Curve News Release
CURVE, Pa. - The nation's birthday, with a Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, the nation's most recognizable traveling act, the ZOOperstars, and the nation's only rally fish, Al Tuna, headline the Altoona Curve's upcoming homestand, which runs from Monday, July 4th through Monday, July 11th. The Curve will welcome the Akron Aeros, AA - Cleveland Indians, for four games, and the Bowie Baysox, AA - Baltimore Orioles, for four more at Blair County Ballpark.
The fun begins on Monday, the Fourth of July, as the Curve will celebrate Independence Day with a 7 p.m. game with the Aeros and a Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery after the game. For this special occasion, the Curve will be offering individual third base picnic tickets in the US Foodservice Pavilion. The picnic, which includes a two-hour, all-you-can-eat buffet, is only $22.50 for adults and $17.50 for children. Season ticket holders may upgrade for $15.50 for adults and $11.50 for children.
Additionally, The Altoona Curve will wear special Stars and Stripes caps on July 4th and fans will have an opportunity to bid on the game-used caps during the game with the proceeds benefitting the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. There will also be a limited number of the Stars and Stripes caps available in the Curve Stockyard for the Fourth of July game as well. These caps will not be available online and will only be available during the July 4th game.
Tuesday brings a Two-for-Tuesday to Blair County Ballpark thanks to Atlantic Broadband and KRAFT Singles. Fans can take advantage of one of the best deals in Minor League Baseball by getting two tickets, two hot dogs and two small popcorns all for the price of one during the 7 p.m. game.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Curve welcome man's best friend to BCB as its Bark in the Park Night. Curve mascot Diesel Dawg won't be the only four-legged friend in the park for this night only. It's also a Ponderosa Four-Pack Wednesday where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four regular sodas all for $30 thanks to Ponderosa Steakhouses.
For Thursday's game, it will be the second of four Summer Cruise Series dates that features a giveaway to the first 500 fans 21 and older. All fans that collect all four items in the series, which opened with an aviator sunglasses giveaway on June 16th, and bring them to the game on September 4th vs. Richmond, will be entered to win a drawing for a cruise for four thanks to Nittany Travel.
"Risky Business" will be Tom Cruise film of choice this time and the first 500 fans 21 & up will receive a pair of Tighty Whities, commemorating the famous sock-sliding scene from the film. It will also be a Thirsty Thursday at BCB thanks to Rocky 104.9 with $2 draft specials on 16oz. Miller Lite and $1.50 specials on small 22oz. sodas
