Todd Griffith Called-Up To American Hockey League

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Club announced that center Todd Griffith has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. Bridgeport is the AHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders.

Griffith, 21, has played in 23 games for the Condors this season tallying 16 goals and 12 assists with 38 penalty mintues. The 5-foot, 11-inch, native of Welland, Ontario, currently ranks second in the ECHL among rookie scorers and was chosen as a member of the 2007 Rbk ECHL All-Star team.

"I'm very happy for him and he's very deserving," said Condors head coach Marty Raymond. "The ECHL is a great place to show talent and Griffith did a great job for us. He will do very well in the AHL."

Griffith began his professional career in the playoffs last season for the Central Hockey League's Laredo Bucks after playing four years of juniors in the Ontario Hockey League.

Wednesday, Jan. 10 the Condors face off against the Utah Grizzlies. Wednesday is also the first College/High School ID Night of the season. All college and high school students receive $1.00 executive level admission by presenting their student ID courtesy of CW Bakersfield & 106.1 KRAB Radio. Doors open 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Join the Condors on Sunday, Jan. 14 as they take on the Fresno Falcons. It will be Cheer Sign Giveaway Night. Everyone in attendance will receive a Condors Cheer Sign compliments of the Bakersfield Californian, Bright House Networks, HOT 94.1 and Lennar Homes. Sunday's game has a special start time of 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

This Sunday is also a Bakersfield Californian Post- It Discount night and a Bright House Networks Family Night. Bring the Post-it located on the front of Friday's Bakersfield Californian and receive $2.00 off any ticket, or present the coupon delivered in your Bright House bill and receive $5.00 terrace level admission per person to Friday's game.
