
Fan favorite Tarabrin returns to Chiefs

Johnstown, PA (December 22, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs on Friday announced the signing of forward Dmitri Tarabrin.
With 427 regular season games played in a Johnstown Chiefs sweater from 1997-2006, Tarabrin, a native of Moscow, Russia, has scored 200 points (83g, 117a). Tarabrin is the all-time leader for the Chiefs in games played, and ranks third in goal scoring behind Bruce Coles (106g) and Martin Masa (86g). In 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Johnstown, the 5-8, 180-pound Tarabrin has scored four goals and one assist.
Tarabrin began the season with the Bloomington (Ill.) PrarieThunder of the United Hockey League, scoring four goals and one assist in 25 games.
"It's great to be back in a Johnstown Chiefs uniform again," stated Tarabrin, who makes his off-season home in the Flood City. "To be back here for another season is especially meaningful for me, because I get to be close to my family and play in front of the fans who have supported me for the past seven seasons."
Prior to joining the Chiefs, Tarabrin appeared in 101 regular season games with the Wheeling Nailers, scoring 24 goals and 38 assists from 1997-99.
