Warriors Netminder Fortin Named Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the Week
March 18, 2024 - Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today that Dimitri Fortin of the Moose Jaw Warriors has been named Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 17, 2024. The 17-year-old netminder posted a 2-0-0-0 record in two appearances with a 1.70 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage against provincial opponents. March 18, 2024 - The Edmonton Oil Kings have signed former Moose Jaw Warriors netminder Connor Ungar to a two-year, entry-level contract. This past season at Brock University, Ungar posted a stellar 20-6-0 record with a 2.15 goals against average and a .932 save percentage, while helping the Badgers to the program's first University Cup tournament appearance. Mateychuk Breaks Warriors' Record for Points by a Defenceman
March 17, 2024 - Regina, SK - Denton Mateychuk has etched his name in Moose Jaw Warriors' history. The Warriors captain registered his 213th career point on Sunday afternoon, setting a new Warriors' record for points by defenceman. Mateychuk passes Nathan Paetsch, who had held the record since 2003. Paetsch, who is now an assistant coach with the Rochester Americans, congratulated Mateychuk on accomplishing the feat.
