Leilani Mitchell Named 2019 WNBA Most Improved Player

September 18, 2019 - PHOENIX - Eleven-year veteran guard Leilani Mitchell was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player for the 2019 season, as announced by the league office today. It marks the first time in franchise history a Mercury player has won the award and is the second time in Mitchell's career she's received the honor (2010 with New York), the first time in WNBA and NBA history a player has won the award twice in a career. Mercury Headed to Chicago for Round 1 of WNBA Playoffs

September 8, 2019 - PHOENIX - The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury will aim for a league-record tying fourth WNBA Championship when the team opens its 2019 postseason on Wednesday, Sept. 11 in Chicago against the Sky. The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and will be broadcast on ESPN2. September 4, 2019 - PHOENIX - 2014 WNBA Champion, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and current 2019 league scoring leader Brittney Griner was named the Western Conference Player of Month for August, as announced by the league office today. It marks the first time in her career Griner has been named WNBA Player of the Month and the fifth time in franchise history a Mercury player has won the award since it was established in 2010 (Diana Taurasi has won the other four).
