For the very first time, the Ontario Hockey League is highlighting geographical rivalries with Rivalry Weekend, every team will play its designated rival, with many featuring home-and-home match ups. Storm to Host Erie Otters in 2025 Home Opener

June 12, 2025 - In conjunction with the Ontario Hockey League, the Guelph Storm is excited to announce the 2025-2026 season will begin with a mid-west division match-up against the Erie Otters. The Guelph Storm will open the season at the Sleeman Centre on Friday, September 19th at 7:07pm against the Erie Otters, before hitting the road on Saturday, September 20th to face off against the Barrie Colts in their home opener. Storm Acquire Ethan Miedema from the Kingston Frontenacs

June 10, 2025 - General Manager George Burnett announced today that the Guelph Storm have acquired overage forward Ethan Miedema from the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for a 14th round pick (Guelph) in 2027, a conditional 2nd round pick (Brantford) in 2026, a conditional 3rd round pick (Saginaw) in the 2027, and a conditional 5th round pick (Windsor) in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection. Jake Karabela Commits to the Ohio State University

June 6, 2025 - Guelph Storm assistant captain and overage forward Jake Karabela has announced his commitment to The Ohio State University for the 2025-26 NCAA hockey season. A native of Guelph, Ont., Karabela was selected 32nd overall by his hometown team in the second round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection and was selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
