
Wranglers Take Down Aces in 4-2 Win

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the first-place Alaska Aces 4-2 tonight, advancing two points in the Western conference standings and improving to 41-22-1-6.
A scoreless first loomed until Aces center Brian Swanson netted a goal with 2:24 left in the period, giving Alaska a 1-0 lead. Wranglers center Eric Lampe knotted the game 1-1 early in the second, and with his 36th goal of the season, the ECHL-leading goal scorer tied the Wranglers club record for most goals in a season. Midway through the period, Wranglers left wing Adam Miller and center Ash Goldie tallied back-to-back goals in 38 seconds for a 3-1 lead, but a goal from Aces defenseman Tyson Marsh ended the second 3-2 in favor of Las Vegas.
To secure the 4-2 win, Wranglers center Judd Blackwater tipped one in on Aces goalie Gerald Coleman, giving Las Vegas two points in the Western conference. With the Ontario Reign losing 3-0 to the Colorado Eagles, the Wranglers are one point behind the Reign in regaining the second seed in the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The Wranglers finish the regular season this weekend with two games against the Colorado Eagles on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 31, is Fan Appreciation Night, where the entire Wranglers team will be available for autographs and photos. The Wranglers play all 36 regular-season home games at the Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
