After a scoreless first period, the Gladiators were able to get on the board first. The score came when Tyler Murovich fought to gain possession of the puck and passed it to Jacob Drewiske at the right side of the goal. Drewiske took the shot on goal which was stopped by Florida goaltender John Muse. However, Cody Brookwell picked up the rebound and fired it into the net to give the Gladiators a 1-0 lead at 4:26.
In the third period, Gwinnett added to their lead. The Gladiators second goal came when Doug Jones received a pass in the neutral zone and outskated the defense. Jones fired a slap shot from the right side circle which screamed past Muse and into the goal to put the score at 2-0.
