Gazley Named to ECHL All-Rookie Team

Elmira Jackals forward Dustin Gazley has been named to the 2011-2012 ECHL All-Rookie Team, the league announced on Wednesday.

Gazley, a native of Novi, Mich., leads all ECHL skaters with 81 points (23g-58a) with three games remaining in the regular season. He is currently on a 10-game assist streak (3g-13a), the longest by any player in the league in 2011-2012. Gazley went on a 15-game point streak from Feb. 3 - 29 (8g-14a), which is tied for the longest in the ECHL this season. The 23-year-old collected the ECHL Rookie of the Month award for February and received ECHL Player of the Week honors for Jan. 2 - 8.

Prior to skating professionally, Gazley played four seasons at Michigan State University (NCAA, D-I) from 2006-2010, posting 30 goals and 43 assists for 78 points in 153 career games.

Gazley is the second Jackal to be named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team. Justin Donati garnered the accolade in 2009-2010, prior to receiving the John A. Daley Award as the ECHL Rookie of the Year.
