Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - Wednesday night's battle between the Elmira Jackals and Titans took on a familiar script.

Some of the games between the clubs - on both sides - have been one-sided, but most have been nip-and-tuck affairs. Last night, in front of 2,241 fans at the Sun National bank Center, the teams went into overtime for the fourth time this season.

And the Jackals (44-22-2-2-92) notched a 2-1 win over the Titans (21-39-4-6-52), who played well in defeat.

Mike Radja put the Jackals ahead, 1-0, with his 29th goal just 3:28 into the game, but goalie Dave Caruso, who earned the Third Ace of the evening, closed the door for the rest of regulation.

The Titans tied the game on Ray DiLauro's eighth of the season, on the power play, with eight seconds left in the second period. Adam Presizniuk and Andy Bohmbach assisted on the only shot that got past Elmira netminder Timo Pielmeier.

Artem Demkov, with his 20th, won it for the Jackals, on the power play, with 57 seconds remaining in overtime.

The Titans host Wheeling at Fan Appreciation Night Friday, then close the 2011-12 season Saturday at Reading.
