DONALLY AND DEST HEAD TO AHL, WRANGLERS ADD SIMS MARK YOUR CALENDER FOR THESE UPCOMING GAMES
The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that the team has signed goalie Tyler Sims. The team also announced that left wing Ryan Donally has been recalled by the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League. In an additional roster move, defenseman Jason Dest has signed a PTO with the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL.
Sims joins the Wranglers after a two-game stint with the Reading Royals and a four-year career at Providence College. The 23-year old posted a 0-1-1 mark with Reading. The rookie goalie stopped 39 of 43 for a .907 save percentage and also accumulated a 2.80 goals against average. In four seasons at Providence college, Sims went 44-56-10 with a 2.57 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. The Fort Wayne, IN native posted his best collegiate season during the 2005-06 season, going 17-14-2 with three shutouts, a 2.32 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.
Donally makes his second appearance in the AHL with Quad City after a seven game stint in late December, in which the 23-year old left wing registered no points and 19 penalty minutes. With the Wranglers this season, Donally set new career highs with 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points in 53 games played. The Tecumseh, ON native leaves as the team leader in penalty minutes with 176. Donally was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in the third round (#97 overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. The second year pro has played in 111 professional games, including 86 with the Wranglers.
Dest makes his first appearance in the AHL with the Peoria Rivermen, joining Wranglers defenseman Tyson Strachan. The rookie defenseman has four assists and 82 penalty minutes in 50 games played with Las Vegas this season. The 2008 National Conference All-Star is tied for third on the team with a +20 rating.
WRANGLERS BEAT ROADRUNNERS FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN
The Las Vegas Wranglers (46-12-12, 104 points) defeated the Phoenix RoadRunners (23-38-9, 55 points) 5-3 at the U.S. Airways Center on Tuesday night. Center Curtis Fraser scored once and dished out two assists in his return from the AHL. Goalie Kevin Lalande tied a career-high with 41 saves, improving to 17-5-4 on the year. Defenseman Jim Jorgensen and forwards Aki Seitsonen (2) and Adam Cracknell also scored in the win. Left wing Ryan Donally added two assist as Las Vegas won its fifth straight game and ninth game of the last ten games.
FRASER RETURNS TO SAN ANTONIO
The Las Vegas Wranglers announced on Wednesday that center Curtis Fraser has been returned to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
Fraser played in last nights 5-3 win at Phoenix, making him eligible for the Wranglers 2008 Kelly Cup Playoff Roster. The 25-year old scored a goal and added two assists in a Wranglers victory. He originally signed with San Antonio on November 16th. In five games with Las Vegas, Fraser has three goals and eight assists for 11 points. He also has a +8 rating. In 38 games with San Antonio, Fraser has four goals and two assists for six points. Fraser is seventh on the Rampage with 85 penalty minutes.
Fraser played the last four seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. In 148 games with the Nanooks, the six-foot-two, 200-pound center scored 59 goals and totaled 114 points. At the end of his senior season, Fraser played four playoff games with the AHLs Chicago Wolves.

MADILL RETURNS TO LAS VEGAS
The Las Vegas Wranglers announced on Tuesday that defenseman Mike Madill has been returned by Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.
Madill returns to Las Vegas after going scoreless in a one-game stint with the Admirals. He was originally assigned to Las Vegas on October 11th by the Quad City Flames. The 25-year old has played in 65 games for Las Vegas, scoring four goals and adding ten assists for 14 points. Madill also posted a +6 and 46 penalty minutes.
Madill started this season in the Calgary Flames Training Camp, followed up by Quad Citys training camp. Madill appeared in both of the Flames first two games. He recorded an assist on Opening Night as the Flames beat Rockford 5-1.
Madill played seven games with the AHLs Houston Aeros last season. He recorded one point (an assist) during his inaugural stint in the AHL. Madill spent the majority of the 2006-07 season with the ECHLs Texas Wildcatters. He ranked ninth in scoring amongst ECHL defensemen with 43 points (four goals and 39 assists) last season. The 25-year old was named to the 2007 American Conference All-Star Team as a member of the Wildcatters. Prior to turning pro, Madill played four seasons at St. Lawrence University, three of them with former Wranglers goalie Mike McKenna. In 154 collegiate games, Madill scored 14 goals and added 49 assists for 63 points.
