Johnstown's Rowe Named CCM TACKS Player Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Randy Rowe of the Johnstown Chiefs is the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for March.

The 6-foot and 195-pound Rowe had six goals, 16 assists and 22 points with a plus-minus rating of +13 to help the Chiefs go 9-4-1 and clinch a Kelly Cup Playoff spot.

Rowe scored in all eight games he played in February and began March with an eight-game point streak (4g-8a) and a three-game assist streak (3a) that he extended to 13 games (7g-14a) and eight games (9a) before being held without a point on Mar. 15 against Elmira. He had a goal and two assists in a 5-3 win at Reading on Mar. 1 and scored the game-winning goal and had an assist in a 6-2 win at Elmira on Mar. 2.

He ended the month with four consecutive multiple-point games (2g-8a) and leads the Chiefs with 43 assists and 67 points in 56 games. He tied for second on the Chiefs in 2006-07 with 38 points (15g-23a) in 34 games while also playing in the American Hockey League where he had three points (2g-1a) in 17 games with Springfield.

The 27 year old has played in the ECHL each of his first six seasons and has 284 points (136g-148a) in 327 regular season games and five points (3g-2a) in 14 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Johnstown and Peoria.

Runners Up: Josh Soares, Alaska (15 gp, 11g, 10a, 21pts), Josh Prudden, Fresno (15gp, 6g, 14a, 20pts) and Wes Goldie, Victoria (13 gp, 12g, 5a, 17 pts).
