Desharnais Named All-Rookie By ECHL

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Cyclones rookie center David Desharnais has been named to the ECHL's All-Rookie team. Desharnais, 21, is the leading scorer in the ECHL and has outscored the next closest rookie by 21 points The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Desharnais, a native of Quebec City, is the first ECHL player ever to earn Rookie of the Month honors three times in one season. The 5-foot-6, 177 pounder has had points in 50 games and had multiple points in 31 of those contests.

For the season, Desharnais leads the ECHL in scoring with 28 goals and 74 assists for 102 points. David leads the ECHL with 74 assists and ranks second in the league in plus/minus rating at +35.

Desharnais played last season with Chicoutimi (QMJHL), where he amassed 108 points on 38 goals and 70 assists in 61 games. David also appeared in seven games with Bridgeport (AHL). A three-time winner of the Frank Selke Trophy as the league's Most Sportsmanlike Player, Desharnais has signed an AHL contract with Hamilton since joining the Cyclones.

Cincinnati has won the North Division with a 54-11-5 record, recording the second-most wins in ECHL history and tying for third-most standings points (113).
