April 3, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. - Fresno Falcons CEO John Tull is a candidate for the 2008 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Central California Man of the Year.

All candidates for the Man of the Year honor are currently soliciting donations on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each dollar donated for a candidate counts as one vote.

Fans can visit the Falcons website at www.fresnofalcons.com and bid on 100 sports-related items to help John Tull in his Man of the Year candidacy. Included in the auction are over 50 hockey jerseys, Falcons autographed gear, a 2002 Taylor Cup Championship autographed stick, and a 1994 Alex Rodriguez Midwest League All-Star card set. There is something for everyone, including a World Famous San Diego Chicken Bobblehead and doll collection.

"I have been collecting sports stuff for the past 18 years while working in sports and now I am parting ways with it to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man of the Year of Campaign," Tull said. "It is truly an honor to be nominated for the 2008 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man of the Year. I am very proud of what the Fresno Falcons have accomplished these past several years that I have been involved. It has always been our mission to serve the community and to be nominated for this campaign truly is an honor."

The on-line auction runs through April 15, with donations for the Man of the Year Campaign continuing until April 21. The winner of the 2008 award will be announced on April 25.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. Leukemia is the number one killing disease of children under the age of 20. The good news is that the survival rate has risen from 4% in 1960 to 81% in the last decade. This is in part due to the money that The Leukemia & Lymphoma society has raised to aid researchers in their fight to find cures for this disease.

The Falcons conclude the regular season with a pair of games in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads on Friday and Saturday, with both games starting at 6:10 p.m. PT. The games will air on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, on a tape-delayed basis following Fresno Grizzlies baseball.
