Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Las Vegas Wranglers (28-26-4-3, 63pts) the Bakersfield Condors (32-23-4-1, 69pts) scored three times on the power play and held back a Condors rally to take a 5-4 victory in front of 5,019 fans at Orleans Arena Friday night.

In a back-and-forth opening period, both clubs put two goals up on the board. The new guys made an impact for Bakersfield, with F Mark Voakes giving the Condors a 1-0 lead 3:15 into the game. After a pair of Wranglers tallies in the next 3:11 of play, D Scott Marchesi potted his 4th of the season at 10:07 on the power play to make it 2-2. Both Voakes and Marchesi were making their Condors debut after being acquired from Cincinnati earlier in the week.

F Stephane Goulet gave the Condors the lead back, just 35 seconds into the middle stanza, with a power play goal. The lead wouldn't last, though, as Vegas tied it up at 5:57 on LW Mick Lawrence's 20th of the season. At 7:53 C Josh Prudden banged in a loose puck from the doorstep to make it 4-3. G Timo Pielmeier saw 20 shots on goal through 40 minutes of play, while Wranglers G Jimmy Spratt had faced 18.

RW Alex Bourret extended the lead with his second of the night, on the power play at 6:24. The Wranglers connected on three of their five man-advantages in the game. Newly signed Condors F Dan Kissel ripped home his first career goal at 14:35 to make it a one-goal game. But the equalizer proved to be elusive, and the Condors fell 5-4.
