Wranglers defeat Condors, 6-2

LAS VEGAS, Nevada. - The Las Vegas Wranglers (29-26-4-3, 65pts) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (32-24-4-1, 69pts) 6-2 Saturday night at Orleans Arena. The two teams will complete their 12-game season series on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. in Las Vegas.

The Condors and Wranglers played scoreless hockey until LW Mick Lawrence scored on the power play with 2:01 left in the first period to make it 1-0 for the home team. Shots were even at 10 following 20 minutes.

The Wranglers added to their lead in the second period. Goals by RW Alex Bourret, C Josh Prudden and Lawrence made it a 4-0 lead. G Tyler Sims was pulled following Lawrence's goal with 6:57 to play in the second period and replaced by G Timo Pielmeier. Sims finished the game stopping 16 of 20 shots.

D Scott Marchesi broke G Jimmy Spratt's shutout bid at 4:04 of the third period on a two-man advantage power play goal. D Craig Switzer scored the Wranglers' third power play goal of the the game, 5:44 into the final period of the regulation for a 5-1 Las Vegas lead. RW Nick Kemp recorded his seventh goal of the season to make it a 5-2 game. C Adam Miller scored on the power play with 9:02 remaining in the third period for a 6-2 Wranglers lead.
