Victoria, BC - In a Friday night contest the Victoria Salmon Kings and Idaho Steelheads met in the second of a three-game set at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. Victoria's Matt Keetley started in net while Idaho gave the nod to Richard Bachman.

The Steelheads scored the lone goal of the period just 2:03 after puck drop. While shorthanded Mark McCutcheon broke into the offensive zone down the right wing, faked a shot and put the puck past a sprawled Keetley for his ninth goal of the season. Keetley turned away 16 of 17 shots in the first period as Idaho took their 1-0 lead into the intermission.

Idaho extended their lead to 2-0 at the 3:54 mark when Evan Barlow skated behind the net from the left boards and slid the puck from the right side of the goal through the pads of Keetley. For Barlow it was his 28th goal of the year. Tim Wedderburn notched the Salmon Kings' first goal of the game on the power play at 14:37. Off an offensive zone rush Wes Goldie threw the puck on net from the right faceoff circle that banked off of a streaking Wedderburn and past Bachman. The goal was Wedderburn's third of the campaign. Tyler Spurgeon regained the Steelhead's two-goal advantage at 17:46 when he took a pass into the slot from Mark Derlago and fired a shot past the glove of Keetley. For Spurgeon it was his 22nd goal of the season. Idaho skated into the second intermission with a 3-1 advantage.

Idaho scored their fourth goal of the game just 22 seconds into the final frame on Spurgeon's second goal of the night and 23rd of the year. McCutcheon registered Idaho's fifth goal at the 9:52 mark before McKnight scored his 10th goal of the season at 17:07 to make it 6-1. McCutcheon rounded out the scoring while shorthanded at 18:09 with his third goal of the game and 11th of the season. Steelheads 7 Salmon Kings 1.
