Florida Everblades News Release

Charleston, SC - Milan Gajic was the hero for Florida in overtime scoring 3:44 into the extra session to snap a two-game slide for the 'Blades. Gajic split two Stingray defenders and broke in one-on-one with goaltender Todd Ford who was beaten low glove side. Brandon Buck chipped in two assists for Florida while goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped 35 shots to record his 15th win of the season.

The victory was the fifth for the Everblades over South Carolina this season. The two clubs finish off their regular season series tomorrow afternoon in North Charleston Coliseum at 4:00 p.m.

After a scoreless first period of play, the Everblades finally broke the 0-0 deadlock with just 29 seconds left in the second period. Ernie Hartlieb wristed a shot from the middle of the right circle that beat Stingray goaltender Todd Ford and found the back of the South Carolina net to give Florida the lead. ECHL All Star Brandon Buck and Brad Zanon recorded assists on the Hartlieb marker, his 11th of the season.

The Everblades have posted a 22-0-2-0 when leading after two periods of play. That record was in jeopardy when Rob Ricci split the defense and slid a backhand past Chris Beckford-Tseu with only 2:31 left to play in regulation to tie the game 1-1. The game would proceed to an overtime session where Gajic would score the eventual game winner.

The Everblades play their sixth and final game of the regular season in North Charleston Coliseum on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
