Bakersfield Condors News Release
LAS VEGAS - The Bakersfield Condors and Las Vegas Wranglers needed the shootout to decide Thursday's preseason matchup, a 5-4 win for the Wranglers at Orleans Arena.
Las Vegas jumped out to a quick start, lighting the lamp just four minutes into the game and taking a 3-1 lead into the dressing room through 20 minutes. F Andrew Ianiero tallied for the Condors to make it 1-1, but the Wranglers victimized Condors G Joey Perricone two more times to regain the advantage.
The Condors stormed back in the second, scoring the only two goals of the middle stanza. Swedish import F Alexander Hult made it a one-goal game on the power play just 1:29 in, and rookie returning F Tylor Michel tied it up at 12:50.
At 3:30 of the third C Dave Bonk gave the Condors their first lead of the contest, though it was beset by a Tyler Mosienko tally just a few minutes later to leave the score 4-4.
After a scoreless overtime, the clubs headed to the shootout. Out of 10 shooters, only Matt McKnight scored for Las Vegas to seal the win.
The Condors stay on the road Friday night against the Ontario Reign at 7 p.m. from the Center Ice Arena in Ontario. They host the Las Vegas Wranglers Saturday night at Rabobank Arena in their final preseason matchup. Doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in the lower level and $5 for the upper level.
