
Lynx Add Four to Camp

AUGUSTA, Ga.− The Augusta Lynx have added left wing Travis Fuller, forwards Michael Mullen and Joe Rooney, and defenseman Kevin Quick to their training camp roster, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations John Marks announced today.
Fuller, 22, joins the Lynx camp after having participated in training camp with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The Whitney, Ontario, native split the 2007-08 season with the Lynx and the Cincinnati Cyclones, notching 36 total points (20 goals, 16 assists) and 47 penalty minutes in 59 regular-season games during his rookie season. Fuller, 6'3, 193 pounds, also scored three points (two goals, one assist) in five Kelly Cup playoff games with the Lynx.
Mullen, 25, comes to Augusta after having attended camp with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. The 5'11, 175-pounder played nine games with the Pensacola Ice Pilots as a rookie last season, where he recorded two penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, the native of Pittsburgh, Pa. scored 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists) and 35 penalty minutes in 27 games during his final season with New England College last year.
Quick, 20, was reassigned to the Lynx by the Tampa Bay Lightning after having participated in training camp with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. The 6'0, 175-pound native of Buffalo, N.Y., had four assists and six penalty minutes in 18 games with the Admirals last season after scoring four points (two goals, two assists) in 21 games with the Michigan Wolverines. Quick was originally drafted 78th overall by Tampa Bay in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Rooney, 23, comes to Augusta after having attended training camp with the Providence Bruins of the AHL. The 5'10, 170-pound native of Canton, Mass., split last season between the Trenton Devils of the ECHL and the Lowell Devils of the AHL. While with Trenton, Rooney tallied 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) and 31 penalty minutes in 50 games. He also had three goals and six penalty minutes in 13 games with Lowell.
The Augusta Lynx begin their 11th season of play when they host the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Friday, Oct. 17th at 7:30 p.m. Fans coming for opening night are eligible to enter a raffle for a free Breitling watch and shopping spree courtesy of Windsor Jewelers and are eligible for a free gift from Carhartt, courtesy of Boots, Bridles and Britches.
