Phoenix RoadRunners News Release

ESTERO, Fla. - Justin Bowers and Danick Bouchard each collected a pair of goals and goaltender David Leggio stopped all 18 shots he faced to propel the Florida Everblades to a 7-0 victory in ECHL pre-season action Friday at Germain Arena.

The Everblades (1-0-0) would receive all the scoring they would need for the evening just 4:10 into the first period on a goal from defenseman Aaron Brocklehurst. Bowers tallied his first of the night at 11:54 of the period giving Florida a 2-0 advantage after twenty minutes.

The Everblades continued their offensive assault with three special teams' goals in the second period in a span of 4:19 seconds. Andrew Fournier potted a power play goal at 9:02 on a nifty centering feed from Bowers in the left-wing corner to extend the lead to 3-0. Veteran Ernie Hartlieb later scored on a power play at 11:20 and Bouchard notched a shorthanded goal at 13:21 to make it 5-0 after two periods.

Bowers and Bouchard each scored their second goals of the game at 1:30 and 4:29 of the third period respectively to cap the scoring for the Everblades.

Florida out-shot Phoenix (0-1-0) 30-18. Rookie Ryan Daniels stopped 23 shots in the loss. The RoadRunners went 0-8 on the power play while Florida was 2-6 with the man-advantage.

Notes: The RoadRunners dropped to 3-4-0 all-time in pre-season play...Forwards Bryan Esner and Mitch Carefoot and defensemen Andrew Andricopoulos and Matt Burke were all healthy scratches.
