Erie SeaWolves News Release

The SeaWolves took game one of Tuesday night's doubleheader behind a complete game from L.J. Gagnier, 4-0 over the Reading Phillies.

Erie broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning against Reading starter Austin Hyatt. Deik Scram led off with an opposite-field double. With two outs, Francisco Martinez walked and stole second. Bryan Holaday followed, worked a full count and slammed his second home run of the season. The three-run blast gave the ‘Wolves a 3-0 lead.

In the fifth, Rawley Bishop, in his first game since returning from the disabled list, slammed a two-out, solo home run to straight away center for a 4-0 Erie advantage.

The four runs was more than enough for Gagnier who tossed Erie's first complete game of the season. Gagnier went the distance allowing just a pair of hits in tossing the ‘Wolves first shutout of the season. He struck out six while only walking one. Gagnier is Erie's first starter with two victories.
