BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a pair of roster moves effective yesterday. 1B Joe Mahoney was activated from the 7-day disabled list, and OF Miguel Abreu was transferred to class Single-A Frederick from Bowie. With the moves, the Baysox have 24 active players on their 24-man roster.
Mahoney was batting .143 (1-7) in two games this season before the injury. Last year the left-hander hit .319 (61-191) for Bowie, launching nine home runs and collecting 29 RBIs in 52 games.
Abreu played in seven games for the Baysox, batting .167 (3-18) with four walks and three stolen bases.
