Connecticut Whale News Release
The Wolf Pack climbed back into second place in the AHL's Atlantic Division last week, improving their record to 29-13-2-5 for 65 points with a win and a shootout loss in a pair of home games. On Friday night at the XL Center, the Pack thumped the Springfield Falcons, 6-2, but a four-game Wolf Pack win streak ended the next night, as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers authored a 2-1 shootout triumph over the Pack. That result was despite a 40-25 shots on goal advantage for Hartford. Miika Wiikman stopped 44 out of 47 shots in the two games, and captain Andrew Hutchinson was the leading contributor at the other end, scoring the only Wolf Pack goal Saturday and dishing out three assists in Friday's win. The Wolf Pack now have at least a standings point in seven straight games (4-0-2-1) and 11 of their last 12 (8-1-2-1).
This week:
It's a light week of action for the Wolf Pack, with only two games on the schedule. The Pack wrap up a season-high five-game homestand by hosting the Manchester Monarchs on Wednesday night, February 6th at 7:00, and then their only game of the weekend is a Friday-night visit to Providence (7:05).
