Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons Wives and Girlfriends have quietly been busy making their own mark in the Pioneer Valley Community. That commitment continues as the Wives and Girlfriends will deliver items they collected recently to the YWCA of Western MA, One Clough Street, Springfield, MA, on Monday, February 4th at 11AM.

The collection drive, supported by The MRI Center, was held at Falcons home games from December 28-January 5th will benefit the Teens and Abused Women being assisted by the YWCA of Western MA.

"We were thrilled to be a part of such an important drive," said Shauna Truitt, wife of Falcons Assistant Coach, Jeff Truitt. "We all want to make a difference in our community and we are just lucky to have opportunities to help out such great causes."

For more than 137 years, the YWCA of Western Massachusetts has been working to support their mission of empowerment of women and girls and the elimination of racism.

The MRI Center organizes this annual program to show that there is strong support from the community.

"It was very heartwarming to hear the Falcons Wives and Girlfriends were in support of this mission," said Angela Kramer of The MRI Center. "This support is an important part of the network which the YWCA needs to continue to provide the types of services that make a difference for the women, youth and children they serve."

The Falcons Wives and Girlfriends have collected food at Thanksgiving, and joined the US Marines for Toys for Tots at Christmas. Their next collection will be Friday, February 8th as they collect items for our troops at the Falcons' BREAK OUT THE BLUE FOR THE TROOPS EVENT.
