Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned left wing BRETT STERLING to the Chicago Wolves.

STERLING was held scoreless in two games with Atlanta last weekend after being recalled on Jan. 31, his third National Hockey League stint this season. The 23-year-old forward has appeared in 13 games with the Thrashers during his NHL debut this year, collecting three points (G, 2A) and 14 penalty minutes.

The Los Angeles native ranks fifth in the AHL with 23 goals and is tied for 19th in the league with 41 points - tied for third-most on the Wolves - in just 36 matchups. The 2007 AHL Rookie of the Year, STERLING ranks seventh on Chicago's all-time goal scoring list with 78 markers in 113 tilts, which includes a league-high 55 last season. He has racked up 138 points during his two seasons of work in a Wolves uniform, which includes ranking third in the AHL with 97 points during his professional debut in 2006-07.

STERLING and the Wolves will play three games in three days this weekend, beginning on Friday when the team travels to Iowa to take on the Stars at Wells Fargo Arena at 7 p.m.
