Wolf Pack Announce Roster Moves

HARTFORD - Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has recalled forward Jack Combs from its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned forward Josh Nicholls to the Wolf Pack from Greenville. Also, the Wolf Pack has released defenseman Nick Petrecki from his Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.

Combs, a 27-year-old seventh-year pro, is tied for the ECHL goals lead, and stands third in the league in points, with 15-16-31 in 26 games. He has played one game for the Wolf Pack this season, after signing an AHL contract with the Wolf Pack August 5. A 5-11, 200-pound native of St. Louis, MO, Combs has skated in 145 AHL games over the course of his career, with the San Antonio Rampage, Oklahoma City Barons, Peoria Rivermen, Chicago Wolves, Worcester Sharks, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Wolf Pack, posting overall AHL totals of 38 goals and 37 assists for 75 points, along with 74 PIM.

Nicholls, a third-year man out of the Western Hockey League, has notched ten goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 29 ECHL games with Greenville this season. Those totals are good for second on the team in goals and a tie for second in points. The 6-2, 196-pound Nicholls played five games with the Wolf Pack last season, posting one assist, and had 21-22-43 in 53 games with Greenville. The 23-year-old Richmond, B.C. native has logged 11 games with the Wolf Pack in his two previous pro years, with one assist, and has 51-55-106, with 58 penalty minutes, in 145 career ECHL games with Greenville. Nicholls was signed as a free agent by the Rangers March 5, 2013.

Petrecki, a 26-year-old seventh-year pro, signed his PTO with the Wolf Pack December 18, after skating in 14 games this season with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL (0-6-6, 20 PIM). The former San Jose Sharks first-round draft pick (28th overall in 2007) was scoreless with ten penalty minutes in three games with the Wolf Pack.

The Wolf Pack finish a stretch of five straight and eight out of nine on the road today, when they visit the Rochester Americans for a 5:05 PM game. The Wolf Pack's next home game is this Tuesday, December 29, when they host the Portland Pirates in a 7:00 game. That is Scout Night at the XL Center. Scout groups that reserve in advance receive discounted tickets and special Scout Night patches.

Tickets for all 2015-16 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499. Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger have been reduced to $10 this season, and all tickets will have a $2 day-of-game increase.
