
Islanders Recall Christopher Gibson

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders have recalled goaltender Christopher Gibson from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The Sound Tigers have also recalled goaltender Parker Milner from the Missouri Mavericks of the ECHL.
Gibson, 23, has an 11-5-3 record with two shutouts in 22 games this season with the Sound Tigers. His 1.99 goals-against average is the fourth-best in the AHL, while his .928 save percentage is fifth in the league.
The Islanders acquired Gibson in a six-player trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs on September 17, 2015. A native of Karkkila, Finland, Gibson played 45 AHL games with the Toronto Marlies last season, posting a 24-17-3 record with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. The Los Angeles Kings selected Gibson in the second round (49th overall) of the 2011 Draft.
Milner, 25, has a 9-3-0 record with two shutouts in 12 games this season with the Mavericks. His 1.67 goals against average is third in the ECHL, while his .938 save percentage is tied for second in the league.
