The Reign responded halfway through the frame when Auger beat Gulls keeper Anton Khudobin (W, 29 saves on 30 shots) between the legs off the goal line at 10:03 for his sixth goal of the season. Defensemen Kevin Gravel and Nick Ebert picked up assists.
Forward Chris Mueller reclaimed the lead for the Gulls late in the second period pushing a rebound past the left leg of Budaj at 15:23. Despite the goal, the Reign out-chanced and out-shot the Gulls in the second period 13-6 and 24-15 through two periods.
