EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips erased a third period deficit but could not seal the deal, as the Portland Winterhawks stole a 5-4 overtime victory at Angel of the Winds Arena.

The Silvertips broke through first on the powerplay, as Olen Zellweger utilized a Jackson Berezowski screen to wire a powerplay goal home at 14:03 in the second period. Portland would answer right back just 16 seconds later, as Robbie Fromm-Delorme powered a slapshot through the leg pads of MacInnes to even the score. Jaydon Dureau would give the Winterhawks a 2-1 lead 1:27 later, converting on a takeaway in the offensive zone for his 18th goal of the season.

Everett rallied for three consecutive goals in the third period, beginning at 9:00 with Jacob Wright slipping a low shot past Taylor Gauthier for his 22nd of the year. Berezowski then tapped in a cross-slot pass from Zellweger to grab the lead for the Silvertips, his 44th tally of the campaign. Aidan Sutter added to the lead at 16:08, as a long shot found the back of the net.

Portland once more rallied just 21 seconds after the goal, as Marcus Nguyen potted his 19th of the year. With time ticking away in the final minute of play, a bouncing puck in front found its way to Clay Hanus, who knotted the game at four with just 11.7 seconds remaining in regulation.

Cross Hanas netted the game-winner 1:03 into overtime, capping off a passing play from Jack O'Brien to cinch the 5-4 win.

The Silvertips venture to Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. Live coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on KRKO. The final regular season home game will be played on Friday, Apr. 8 at 7:05 p.m. at Angel of the Winds Arena. Tickets are available.
