Kelowna Rockets react after a goal against the Prince George Cougars

The Kelowna Rockets picked up their 36th win of the season with a commanding 9-2 win over the Prince George Cougars on Friday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC.
Eight different players found the back of the net for Kelowna, with Andrew Cristall lighting the lamp twice. Talyn Boyko made 22 saves on 24 shots.
Cristall, Scott Cousins and Pavel Novak all posted three-point nights.
Jonas Brøndberg (1) put the Cougars on the board first with a shot that went off of the glass and into the Rockets net. Moments later Andrew Cristall (22) tied the game, Adam Kydd (15) then gave the Rockets their first lead of the game. Tyson Feist (14) and Cristall (23) scored a pair of power play goals before the end of the period.
Cristall set Scott Cousins (3) up 3:11 into the second period, just over a minute later Carter MacAdams (11) inched the Cougars back within one. Jake Lee (15), Dylan Wightman (3) and Pavel Novak (26) all scored for Kelowna. Following Novak's goal, Tyler Brennan was replaced in net by Ty Young.
Elias Carmichael (2) wired a shot past Young 15:05 into the third.
Kelowna was three-for-four on the power play, while Prince George was zero-for-two.
The Rockets outshot the Cougars 39-24.
Kelowna will be back in action tomorrow night when they host the Victoria Royals at 7:05 pm. Select Your Tickets is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday home game days.
All fans attending Rockets games will need to abide by the BC Provincial Health Authority, Prospera Place and the Western Hockey League's COVID-19 health and safety requirements which includes double vaccination and their BC vaccine card. As of March 10th, masks are optional.
