The Rochester Red Wings wrapped up their ninth series win of the season Sunday afternoon, coming out on top over Scranton/WB, 10-3. This was their first series win since 7/25-30 at Worcester after dropping four in a row. LHP Alemao Hernandez logged his second-straight win, while CF Derek Hill, C Brady Lindsly, and RF Jack Dunn each went deep to propel an offense that logged 10 hits.

1B Frankie Tostado reached on an error in the bottom of the second inning and moved to third on a slow-rolling single through the right side by SS Jeter Downs. Tostado came around to score on a bloop single to center off the bat of 3B Erick Mejia to give the Wings a 1-0 lead.

This was the first time the Wings crossed the plate first in a contest in 10 games, and the second time in the last 18 games since 8/13 against Lehigh Valley.

2B Luis García led off the third with his second double in as many games and moved to third on a single to left by DH Jake Noll. Scranton/WB starting pitcher RHP Mitch Spence was called for a balk in the following at-bat, allowing García to score and push Rochester's lead to two.

Scranton/WB C Carlos Narvaez cut the lead in half in the fourth on a 400-foot solo home run to left field, the first homer by either team since Wednesday afternoon. Mejia walked to lead off the home half of the fourth and came around to score the following at-bat on a two-run shot off the bay of C Brady Lindsly, his second career Triple-A homer. CF Derek Hill launched a homer of his own two batters later, his 10th of the season to give Rochester a 5-1 lead heading to the fifth.

After a scoreless frame, 2B Jamie Westbrook led off the sixth with a solo homer of his own to make the score 5-2. Narvaez followed suit with a double, and a walk to 1B Rodolfo Duran put runners on first and second with one out. Brady Lindsly caught Narvaez trying to steal third on a two-strike pitch that was swung through by CF Brandon Lockridge, ending the inning.

A pair of hits and a walk in the eighth loaded the bases with no one out for Scranton/WB. Lockridge worked a second consecutive walk to bring in Narvaez and make the score 5-3. LHP Tim Cate induced an infield fly and a double play to end the threat with just one run.

With two outs in the bottom of the eighth, LF Darren Baker logged a single followed by a walk to Derek Hill. Luis García grounded a ball to short the next at-bat, but the throw sailed over first base and Baker came home to add an insurance run. Noll walked to load the bases, and RF Jack Dunn promptly unloaded them to blow the game open with a seven-run lead.

This was the Wing's fourth grand slam of the season, the first since Travis Blankenhorn went deep on 7/6 against Buffalo.

RHP Gerson Moreno delivered a scoreless ninth to deliver a 10-3 win for Rochester. They finish the season with an 8-4 record at home against Scranton/WB, their most wins at Innovative Field against the Yankees top affiliate since at least 1990.

Alemao Hernandez made his fourth career Triple-A start Sunday afternoon, securing his second consecutive winning decision. The southpaw logged 5.0 one-run innings, allowing four hits while striking out one. RHP Tanner Rainey and RHP Hobie Harris covered the next two frames with an inning each, combining to allow an earned run on four hits. RHP Luis Reyes, LHP Tim Cate, and Moreno combined to cover the final 2.0 innings, allowing one earned run.

Sunday afternoon's Diamond Pro Player of the Game goes to RF Jack Dunn. The righty launched the Wing's fourth grand slam of the season as part of a 1-for-4 day, adding a walk. The bases-clearing homer was the first from a Rochester hitter since Travis Blankenhorn on 7/6 against Buffalo.

Rochester heads east on the Thruway to take on the Syracuse Mets for a six-game set beginning Tuesday, looking to string together series wins. RHP Wily Peralta is slated to make his team-leading 25th start of the season, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
