Chesapeake Baysox News Release

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the Miss Utility Diamond Dig at Prince George's Stadium on Father's Day, Sunday, June 20, after the Baysox take on the Harrisburg Senators at 2:05 p.m. One lucky fan will win a brand new TV worth more than $1,000, courtesy of Best Buy of Bowie.

The team will bury a small container somewhere in the infield dirt before the game, and 50 fans will be selected to try to dig it up after the game. Contestants will be selected through a contest on radio station DC101 before the event and at the stadium during the game. Contestants must be at least 18 years old to participate, and the fan who digs up the container wins the new TV.

Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye helped select the prize for event. "We've buried diamonds in the baseball diamond the last two years," Wrye said. "With the event falling on Father's Day this year, we wanted to have a prize that dads would really love."
