Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Aeros made another roster move today as IF Jared Goedert was transferred to Class-AAA Columbus and IF Adam Davis was received from Class-A Kinston.
Goedert, the everyday starting third baseman for Akron, was having a career season in 2010. Upon his promotion to the Clippers, he led the Aeros in batting average (.325), doubles (14), home runs (seven), RBI (32), total bases (16), on-base percentage (.382) and slugging percentage (.540). He also ranked third in the Eastern League in batting and eighth in slugging while his 21-game hitting streak was snapped Wednesday, just one game shy of the franchise record.
Davis will soon be making his Double-A debut for the Aeros after spending the majority of the past two years with the K-Tribe. This year, he was batting .227 in 24 games played along with three home runs and eight RBI. He has spent the majority of this season playing in the outfield but over the course of his career he has played 180 games at second base, 80 games at third base and 53 at catcher. He was selected by the Indians in the third-round (106th overall) in the June 2006 Draft out of the University of Florida.
An updated roster and transactions page are attached. No word yet on what number Davis will be wearing for the Aeros and that information will be included in tonight's media notes. Please also note the updated hometown listing on the roster page.
