
Walleye Sign Big-10 D-Man

Toledo, OH - The Big-10 Defensive Player of the Year defenseman Trevor Hamilton has signed a contract with the Toledo Walleye.
Hamilton, a native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, just completed his college career with Penn State appearing in 38 games this year with 29 points (6G, 23A), 35 penalty minutes and a plus 13. He helped the Nittany Lions to back to back appearances in the NCAA Tournament with this year's season ending on Saturday in a 5-1 loss to Denver. In two seasons for Penn State, the 23-year-old appeared in 77 games, scoring 12 goals with 43 assists for 55 points and 60 penalty minutes. He was named Big-10 Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts over the course of this year.
He started his college career at Miami of Ohio in 2013-14 season, playing in 30 contests that year. Just a game into the following season, Hamilton chose to return to junior hockey and played the rest of the season for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL. That year he posted nine goals with 19 assists. In 2015-16, he skated with three teams in the USHL, skating in 32 games for Muskegon (6G, 19A), a pair of games for Chicago (1 goal) and 19 contests for Lincoln (4G, 5A). In total, Hamilton posted 74 points (22G, 52A) in 149 games in the USHL.
