
Swamp Rabbits End Season Series with Everblades

RABBIT TAILS
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (23-36-7-1), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, take the ice for the final time against the Florida Everblades (47-13-2-4) tonight at 7:30 p.m. The Swamp Rabbits and Everblades are back in action after facing off on Wednesday night at Germain Arena. Greenville continues on to face Orlando on Saturday night, finishing a three-game road trip across Florida.
CAREER NUMBERS IN DEBUT
Goaltender Chris Nell made a career-best 40 saves on 43 shots in his Swamp Rabbits debut on Wednesday night. The first year netminder has played 32 games in his pro career between the Swamp Rabbits, Adirondack Thunder, Kansas City Mavericks, and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack. The Green Bay, Wisconsin native elected to forgo his senior season at Bowling Green State University to sign with the New York Rangers at the end of the 2016-17 season. In 84 career games with the Falcons, Nell only made 40+ saves twice including a 45-save performance in a 4-3 overtime victory over Bemidji State.
100 IN THE BOOKS
Forward Matt Johnson played his 100th career game on Wednesday night against the Everblades. The Swamp Rabbits winger has played 73 games in a Greenville sweater since turning pro at the end of the 2015-16 season. The Clinton Township, Michigan native produced 16 points (6G, 10A) in his rookie campaign last season. After producing 21 points (10G, 11A) in 24 games with the Pensacola Ice Flyers, the second year pro earned a call up to Greenville in January.
KILLING POWER
The Swamp Rabbits penalty kill unit has stopped the last 15 chances against by an opposing power play unit. In addition, Greenville has matched up against the Everblades power play unit well this season. Florida has connected on just one goal during 20 opportunities with the man advantage. Florida ranks 15th in the ECHL with a 16.8% success rate on the power play. Greenville has turned in an 81.3% rating on the penalty kill in the second half of the campaign.
MOST OFF THE PILLOWS
Swamp Rabbits netminder Ty Rimmer has played 40 games this season, sixth most in the league. The fifth-year pro's outings are tied for the most by a Greenville goaltender in a single season. Jason Missiaen also suited up for 40 games during the 2011-12 season. The Edmonton, Alberta native has also made 1,185 saves this season, which is fourth most in the league and most in franchise history. The only other goaltender to record 1,000 saves in a single season are Missiaen (1,164) in '11-12, Nick Riopel (1,035) in '10-11, and Mackenzie Skapski (1,000) in '16-17.
BACK IN MOTION
Everblades forward Matt Berry notched a goal on Wednesday night and has been a steady contributor for the Everblades since returning to the lineup at the tail end of January. The third-year pro out of Canton, Michigan has posted 26 points (11G, 15A) in 26 games since rejoining the lineup. Berry has played five games against Greenville this season, notching eight points (3G, 5A) in those contests.

* Tonight's game will be broadcast for free on the ECHL's Facebook page as the ECHL.TV Showcase Game. * The Swamp Rabbits are 2-3-1-0 against the Everblades through the first six meetings. * Florida became the first team to reach 100 points this season. * John McCarron posted 11 points (7G, 4A) in six games against Greenville this season, leading the Everblades offense.
