
Alex Wideman Reassigned to Fuel

INDIANAPOLIS - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs announced Thursday that they have reassigned forward Alex Wideman to the ECHL's Indy Fuel. In a separate move, the Fuel have released goaltender Jonah Imoo. Wideman will be available as the Fuel begin a two-game homestand Friday night against the Kansas City Mavericks.
Wideman, 26, ranks sixth on the Fuel in team scoring with 39 points (15g, 24a) in 47 games this season. The third-year forward ranks third on the Indy roster with 16 power play points, and has racked up 18 points in his last 15 outings with the Fuel. Indy's all-time leading point scorer with 94 points over two seasons, Wideman has amassed 133 total points (52g, 81a) in 175 career ECHL games with the Fuel and the Evansville IceMen.
Appearing in three games during his latest stint with Rockford, Wideman has now seen action in 13 games this season for the IceHogs, recording 20 shots and four penalty minutes.
The Fuel continue their push for a Kelly Cup Playoff berth this weekend with a pair of critical Central Division match-ups at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Indy hosts the Kansas City Mavericks Friday, before taking on the Fort Wayne Komets on Made In America night.
