Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies join in the excitement of the Los Angeles Kings playing the Vancouver Canucks in a preseason game September 24, 2018 at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
"We are pleased to welcome NHL preseason action back to Utah," said Grizzlies CEO Kevin Bruder. "This is exciting for all hockey fans in the area and we are looking forward to being involved."
Additional excitement today occurred when the Los Angeles Kings announced the signing of Utah native Daniel Brickley to an NHL Entry Level Contract.
"The Grizzlies would like to congratulate Sandy's Daniel Brickley on his entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings," said Grizzlies Vice President Jared Youngman. "His hard work as he's progressed through hockey is another great example for our thousands of youth hockey players in Utah."
The Brickley family has long been tied to the Grizzlies.
Brickley's Uncle Andy Brickley played for the Grizzlies from 1995-1997 during the course of his 385 game NHL game career.
His Dad Matthew served as a Linesman for hundreds of Grizzlies games in the IHL, AHL and ECHL and has remained a friend of the organization following his retirement.
The Grizzlies open a weekend series in Boise tonight at 7 p.m. The series continues from CenturyLink Arena on Saturday.
