Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah- Five different Utah Grizzlies scored points, as they went on to defeat the Fresno Falcons, 3-1, Saturday night at the E-Center.

After a defensive battle in the first period, the Grizzlies took advantage on the power-play, when Colt King fired the puck from the near circle and past the goal line at the 4:46 mark of the second period. Assists went to Louis Dumont and Jeff Miles. Miles has now extended his point streak to five games (4 goals, 4 assists). Less than two minutes later, J.F. Plourde evened things up, with his 18th goal of the season as he skated around the net and slid the puck through the legs of Grizzlies goaltender, Alfie Michaud.

The Grizzlies took the lead at the 7:55 mark of the third, when Ryan Kinasewich lit the lamp for the 22nd time this year. The helper went to Garett Cameron. Utah added an insurance goal at the 9:29 mark, as Jeff Miles took a pass from Kinasewich and blasted the puck up and over the grasp of Falcons netminder, Jamie Holden. The Falcons fought back, but were unable to put the puck past Michaud, as he turned aside 13 shots in the final period. The Utah netminder denied 30 of 31 shots from the Falcons on the night.

Utah (23-19-4) will continue their seven-game home stand Wednesday, February 8, at the E-Center, when they take on the San Diego Gulls. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m.
