Svagrovsky Recalled To Lowell

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The San Diego Gulls announced Saturday that right-winger David Svagrovsky has been recalled to the American Hockey League's Lowell Lock Monsters. The Colorado Avalanche prospect joins netminder Tyler Weiman, who was recalled to Lowell Thursday.

Svagrovsky, 21, has eight points (3g, 5a) and 33 penalty minutes in 26 games for the Gulls this season. Colorado, San Diego's NHL affiliate originally assigned Svagrovsky to the Gulls in early October. He spent portions of training camp with both Colorado and Lowell.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 210-pounder from Prague in the Czech Republic spent last season, his rookie year, with the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles, who won the President's Cup Championship. In 35 games with the Eagles, Svagrovsky notched four points (1g, 3a) and 55 penalty minutes. Svagrovsky was a fourth round selection of the Avalanche in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
