Doug Christiansen Loaned To Hershey

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Doug Christiansen has been loaned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL. It is expected that Christiansen will join the Bears for tonight's contest against the Philadelphia Phantoms in Hershey.

This marks the second call-up of the season for Christiansen, a fourth year pro from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Christiansen, who leads the Royals in goals with twenty-one (21g - 18a = 39pts) in 39 games, was loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in mid-December and played two games with Bridgeport before being returned to Reading. In his last twenty games with Reading, Christiansen has picked up 27 points (14g - 13a = 27pts), including the second goal in the Royals' 3-2 overtime win against the Wheeling Nailers last night.

Reading returns home to the Sovereign Center to complete the backend of the home and home with the Nailers on Saturday night (7:00 pm). That night, the first 2500 fans in attendance will receive a Royals' poster courtesy of the Reading Eagle. Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
