Phantoms assign McLeod to Trenton

TRENTON, NJ (February 4, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Saturday that center Kiel McLeod has been assigned by the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL).

McLeod, 23, has appeared in ten games for the Phantoms, recording 15 penalty minutes. The Philadelphia Flyers acquired the third-year pro in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes on December 28, 2005.

Before joining the Flyers organization, McLeod was a second round draft pick (#53 overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta native enjoyed a six-year career with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL) before entering the pro game.

McLeod's rookie season came in 2003-04 with the Springfield Falcons (AHL) where he notched 18 points (7g, 11a) and 71 penalty minutes in 77 games. McLeod put up 13 goals and 12 assists over 73 games with the Utah Grizzlies last season.

The Titans and Toledo Storm clash tonight against at 7:00pm at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
