Upcoming weekend filled with promotions

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, are back at the BI-LO Center for two games this weekend with promotions and festivities planned for each night.

Friday, March 25th, the Grrrowl host the South Carolina Stingrays as part of Community Service Night at the BI-LO Center. All state, county, and city employees can purchase a $5 ticket for any seat in the building by showing their employment ID card. The Duncan Chapel Fire Department will bring two fire-clowns and its "Fire Safety House." McGruff the Crime Dog will also be in attendance, and there will be on-ice promotions related to the night's Community Service theme.

Saturday, March 26th, Greenville will host the Columbia Inferno in another 7:05 p.m. start. The "Budweiser Clydesdales" will be at the BI-LO Center (weather permitting) between 5:30 and 7:15 p.m., and Barney's Jive Band will play on the Grrrowl Sound Stage during the game's intermissions.

The Budweiser Clydesdales will be located at the Plaza and Rotunda Entrances before the Grrrowl game Saturday night. There are five traveling Clydesdale teams, which are based in St. Louis, Missouri; Merrimack, New Hampshire; Menifee, California; San Antonio, Texas and San Diego, California. Each year they travel more than 100,000 miles and appear in over 500 events. Other appearances this year include performances at the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, major sporting events including the Super Bowl in San Diego, NASCAR events, as well as the Orange Bowl and Rose Bowl parades.

Greenville only has seven regular season home games left, and currently sits in seventh place of the American Conference standings. For tickets to this weekend's games, or for information on playoff packages, call the Grrrowl offices at 864-467-4777.
